In Richmond, Virginia's roughest neighborhoods and housing projects, Craig Dodson and the two other employees of his nonprofit, the Richmond Cycling Corps, creates and coaches cycling teams for the most at-risk of children.
In his role as a father figure to the kids, Dodson has taken boys and girls to doctor and dental appointments, as well as tracking down teens that go missing in the middle of the night. If a child starts skipping out on the cycling program, he will go knocking on doors. Whatever he has to do to keep them accountable and out of trouble, Dodson does not shy away.
What seems like above and beyond is just another day for Dodson. His calling to serve these children is inspiring, and he shows what true leadership is all about.
